The Government of Western Australia has declared a State of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency in response to COVID-19 coronavirus.
In a bid to slow the spread of the virus the closure of indoor venues, including pubs, clubs, sporting and religious venues is now in effect.
This means the York Recreation & Convention Centre and Gymnasium are now closed to minimise exposure of community and staff.
The following events have been postponed or cancelled:
- Community Road Safety Meeting
- Nin's Birthday Book Trail
- York’s Big Dance Weekend
- WA Gravity Enduro 2020
- York Photographic Awards
- A Night at the Palace of the Stars 2020
- Digging York’s Past - Ask an Archaeologist!
- 2020 York Motorcycle Festival
- Botanicalia Artisan Market
- York Senior Residents' Forum & Expo
