Parks
York has three scenic parks:
Avon Park
Lowe Street.
Avon Park was extensively re-developed in June 2020. Located in Lowe Street, Avon Park is a large, grassed area which runs alongside the Avon River. It is one of the most popular parks in York. There are free electric BBQ facilities with picnic tables and seating, toilets & a Nature Play playground area and Skate Park.
On the North side of the park there is the Swinging Bridge which crosses the river and is a popular viewing spot for many tourists. The rotunda located by the Swinging Bridge is the trail head for the Avon River Walk Trail.
York is an RV friendly Shire with 24-hour free RV parking and a dump point located at Janet Millett Lane, on the opposite side of the river from Avon Park.
Peace Park
South Street.

Gwambygine Park
Great Southern Hwy, heading towards Beverley.
One of the few remaining permanent pools of the Avon River, just 11 kms south of York.
Gwambygine Park is also a pet friendly free 24-hour RV camping spot. Free gas BBQ, potable water and public toilets available.
NOTE: Boardwalk is currently closed for repairs.
Mount Brown Picnic Area
Pioneer Drive, York (on left just before Mount Brown lookout).
Mount Brown picnic area is a pet-friendly picnic spot with shady trees, a free BBQ, picnic tables and a toilet facility.
Car Parks and Public Facilities
There are two large public car parks on Lowe Street and Howick Street.
Two-hour parking is available on the main street (Avon Terrace).
