Bicycle racing returns to York!

As part of the Element Road Series, the York Cycling Festival returns for a whole weekend of cycling fun for the whole family.

The Element Road Series is a 10 round cycling series that works towards the common goal of involving more people in racing and creating a positive experience for all. The Series has seen classic cycling events held in different locations from Chidlow, Collie and Kalgoorlie - and now the historic town of York. With an average of 200 riders participating in each event, we’re looking forward to showcasing the best that York has to offer.

Temporary Road Closure of Avon Street, South Street, Lowe Street and Christie Retreat on Sunday 2nd September 2018.

Business/engagement opportunities

CycleSport WA will be working directly with the Shire of York and local schools to attract local families to spectate the event and to participate in the Little Critters race. We encourage local businesses to offer ‘rider revive’ lunch/dinner/drinks packages and to make the most of the extra people that are likely to visit York on the day.

Little Critters

The York Cycling Festival is a great opportunity to get your kids into racing. Little Critters is a free ride for children aged 15 years and under around the Town Centre circuit.

  • Little Critters receive a number plate for their bike to keep
  • The ride is supervised by parents and coaches
  • All bikes accepted (BMX, MTB, road etc.)

No experience necessary, your kids are sure to enjoy riding in a fun and supportive environment!

 Date: Sunday 2nd September

Time: 1pm start

Location: Avon Terrace

Sign up: 12:30pm outside the York Motor Museum

Setup

The registration and main ‘village’ area for the commentating and presentation will be at Avon Park by the Avon River.
