Why not come and experience a traditional country style Anzac Day including Dawn Service on Mt Brown followed by a gunfire breakfast at the RSL and the all-important parade to the Cenotaph.
On Friday evening, a Heritage Concert and Bush Poetry will be held at the Stable Theatre behind the York Cultural Centre (Old York Court House). Entry by Gold Coin donation, Gates open from 6pm.
The York Society photographic exhibition will start on the Heritage Weekend with official opening on the Friday evening. The theme this year will be heritage and fits in with the National Trust Heritage Month promoted throughout Australia in April and May.
The Mucky Duck Bush Band are performing at Faversham on the Saturday evening, tickets are $25 for GA and $35 for Table Seating via Humanitix. Step back in time as the legendary Mucky Duck Bush Band pays homage to our colonial heritage at the historic Faversham House in York ... and you dance the night away under a blanket of stars. Gates open at 6:00 pm so you can settle in and be ready to take to the lawn when the band takes the stage. The blanket of stars won't keep you warm, so bring a jacket. For comfort, you are welcome to bring blankets and low chairs. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Please note that tickets are strictly limited. No BYO Attendees are welcome to bring picnic blankets and low chairs.
The two days of heritage activities will include displays in the Town Hall, Saturday we will have talks on the history of the rush to Kalgoorlie to prospect for gold. Historical gardens will also feature.
A family fun day on Sunday including old style games such as hobby horse racing, a visit from the miniature donkeys plus a lot more.
