Wundowie Iron Festival
Past Event
Wundowie was the birthplace of WA’s iron ore industry, so to celebrate the heritage of the area Wundowie Oval comes to life with iron sculptures, photography, music, kids activities, stalls, entertainment and more! Nestled amongst dense bushland, Wundowie is approximately 65km east of Perth via the Great Eastern Highway. Conversely, it is 30km west of Northam, the Regional Centre. Visiting this year’s Wundowie Iron Festival is the perfect scenic drive for any day tripper. The Wundowie and surrounding community celebrate their rich industrial history each year with the Wundowie Iron Festival. The festival began years ago as an opportunity to showcase local artists and has developed in recent times to incorporate the community’s link to the Charcoal, Iron and Steel Mill which was foundered in 1948.
