Janet Millett Readings on her 200th Birthday

Past Event

Janet Millett, the wife of Revd Edward Millett who was the first vicar of Holy Trinity Church in the 1860s, wrote a book entitled "An Australian Parsonage" It is an extremely lively and informative recounting of her days in York as an early settler and her experiences.
To mark the 200th anniversary of her birth, the York Society is staging a series of readings from her book, to be held in Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, 17th July at 2pm. This will be followed by a visit to the Rectory to see the original kitchen that she worked in and afternoon tea.
As the Church will hold only 100 people, it is imperative that you book a place for this event as soon as possible.
Bookings may be made online through Eventbrite: www.eventbrite.com.au, then put Janet Millett readings on her 200th birthday into the search box.
Tickets cost $20 each. If you are not comfortable in booking online, you can pop into the Archives on a Tuesday and see Jackie Phillips who will organise it for you.
We do hope to see you there. It should be very interesting.
