The Northam Ballooning Events team have advised of the following:

EVENT POSTPONEMENT: 2021 NATIONAL BALLOONING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Due to the recent and continuing COVID-19 outbreaks around the nation, organisers of the 2021 National Ballooning Championships have made the difficult decision to postpone and reschedule the 2021 event.

Scheduled to take place later this month (30 August – 4 September 2021) in Northam Western Australia, many of the registered pilots and officials are directly impacted by current lockdowns and travel restrictions.

Commenting on the postponement, Northam Ballooning Events operations manager Gren Putland said, “having spent the past many months preparing to host the Championships, we are extremely disappointed we are not able to proceed at this time.

“However, our overarching commitment is to the delivery of a world-class and inclusive Championships for all qualified pilots around Australia. Rescheduling the Championships will allow pilots and officials currently impacted by COVID-19 outbreaks to participate in the event.”

The National Ballooning Championships will be rescheduled to the first half of 2022.  New dates will be confirmed in coming weeks.
