About Violet Bell ...
Violet started painting several years ago as a form of therapy after working for 55 years in an office environment. It was the first time she had explored her artistic ability.
The majority of her art is inspired by the memories of places experienced in her travels.
Her interest in the challenge of Encaustic began in 2018 after attending an encaustic workshop. It involved mixing colours by adding dry pigments to the melted beeswax then layering them on board. Sometimes up to ten layers of wax may be used to create her artwork.
Violet also paints with acrylics, having completed art classes in abstract painting in 2019. She has entered several small exhibitions including the Bassendean Art Show, Dwellingup Art Show, Armadale Arts Trail and Armadale Pop-Up Shop, Kojonup Gallery and The Millbrook Winery.
Her style is a combination of impressionism and abstraction and is all original.
